Treedefi event at Tagpuan Camp and Eco-park 🇵🇭

On the 13th of September 2023, the Treedefi team embarked on a meaningful journey to Tagpuan Camp and Eco-park in the serene landscapes of Tanay, Rizal (Philippines).

Our day began at 8:00 in the morning, where we were graciously welcomed by none other than the visionary CEO, Sofia Lopez Galve, a former Miss Earth Eco-Tourism titleholder from 2021, along with the ever-enthusiastic Marketing Manager, Josh Bayabo.

Our first destination was Cayabu Elementary School, a place that would soon light up with the smiles of nearly 200 students. Here, we carefully unpacked and arranged an array of school supplies, including notepads, pens, pencils, folders, notebooks, and various other essentials that these young learners required to fuel their education.

This initiative was aptly named the “Academic Pantry,” not just to provide supplies but also to promote environmental consciousness by reducing plastic waste. We encouraged the students to select the items they needed from the wide array of school supplies thoughtfully provided by the organizing team.

After ensuring that every student had access to these essential tools, we returned to Tagpuan Camp to kickstart the day’s first tree-planting activity. Joining us in this noble endeavor was none other than the gracious presence of Ms. Yllana Marie Aduana, the distinguished 2023 Miss Earth Philippines.

But our efforts were not solitary; they were bolstered by the unwavering support of the local government of Brgy. Cayabu, led by the indefatigable Barangay Chairman Bolanos and his dedicated team. Their presence added a spirit of unity and community to the day’s ESG activities.

Our tree-planting venture marked a significant step towards environmental conservation, and it was heartwarming to see the community actively participating in this green initiative.

Following the tree-planting session, we returned to the school premises to host a short but memorable program. During this time, the event’s sponsors were graciously acknowledged and presented with certificates of appreciation from both Tagpuan Camp Ecopark and Cayabu Elementary School.

Despite the storm warning issued by the Tanay Rizal government, which led to the suspension of most classes for the day, the students were able to attend the event. They received not only essential school supplies but also a valuable lesson in community and environmental responsibility.

To conclude our day on a high note, we made our way to Camp Hiatus, where we conducted another tree-planting activity. With each sapling carefully placed in the earth, we left behind a lasting legacy of growth and sustainability.

In summary, our day was a harmonious blend of education, environmental consciousness, and community engagement. It was a testament to what can be achieved when like-minded individuals and organizations come together for a common cause. Treedefi remains committed to such initiatives, forging a brighter and greener future for all.
