A Thrilling Ride
2022 for Treedefi was nothing short of a roller-coaster ride, the ups, downs, sideways, and everything in between. The future was unclear for the project as the crypto winter plans to stay longer and breathe colder days for the community.
Despite this situation, we were still able to manage several live planting activities in pursuit of the team’s commitment to plant trees and make real-life changes with the help of blockchain technology.
Treedefi x GreenBeli Event – May 2022
Together with another blockchain project, we planned the activity for several months and waited for the right moment to execute the event due to the strict COVID restrictions mandated by the government in the Philippines.
The participants included our friends from Miss Earth, members from the GreenBeli community, and the management team from Tagpuan Eco-Park which has been one of our strongest partners in the Philippines when it comes to on-site activities.
A total of not less than 80 trees made their way to their new homes in the Rizal Province. While at the event we were able to check out also the trees we planted a year prior to our visit and they have grown so much from the first time we planted them in Tagpuan Eco-Park.
Tree planting with the Queens – June 2022
The Miss Earth candidates for 2022 have made a huge participation in the two-day activity we held for the month of June just less than a month after our last tree-planting event.
The ladies came from different parts of the Philippines carrying their ideals, beauty, and strong love for the environment. Each of them was given the opportunity to plant trees in Tagpuan Eco-Park which hosted the activity.
The Treedefi team was able to cover the 2-day event and made a two-part video of what transpired during the event. When we look back and remember the day, truly it was filled with beauty, grace, and love for the environment.

One Roar for Nature – July 2022
For the third straight month, Team Treedefi initiated another planting activity and partnered with Tunay Kang Bedista and the Office of the Mayor of San Andres, Quezon, represented by Ralph Lim, to plant 55 Narra and 30 Mango Trees in a popular tourist location within their municipality. Over 30 individuals, including local police and officials, joined us in this initiative.
The entourage of the Office of the Mayor included a lot of local officials which made the activity a huge and memorable event for all those who attended.
Treedefi x Brazil – August 2022
The gift that keeps on giving. For the fourth straight month, the Treedefi team has participated in another tree-planting milestone. This time holding the event in Brazil.
It has been a long overdue event that was building up to take place eventually. With the leadership of our beloved Brazilian moderator Carmo and with the help of the local treehuggers in the area, they were able to plant 300 seedlings of native Cerrado Biome Trees.
The event was attended by the local environmental officials of the City of Goiânia, the local coordinator of Miss Goias Earth, and the elected Queen of Miss Goias Earth of 2022. It was a truly momentous event for everyone.
Final Thoughts
So many things have happened in 2022 for Treedefi and its partners. The efforts made by the participants in planting the trees in these activities made these moments truly special.
The crypto winter of 2022 was not enough to stop Team Treedefi from nurturing the environment and making real-life changes.
As the team evolves from the old chapter of its book into a new one we hope to do better in the near future and with the help of our awesome community we will be able to do greater and even bigger events.
